The NH Community Federal Credit Union

About Us

Our History

The NH Community Federal Credit Union was chartered April 10, 1959 as the Claremont Steelworkers Credit Union, for the employees of Joy Manufacturing and their families.
In July 1960, our name was changed to Joy-Sullivan Federal Credit Union, to allow the employees of Sullivan Machine Company to join the credit union.
The next big change came on September 24, 1980, when our name was changed to Claremont Community Federal Credit Union, and the field of membership was opened to all citizens of Claremont (except the school and city workers, who had their own credit union).
On February 27, 1981, the Claremont Municipal Workers Federal Credit Union merged with the Claremont Community Federal Credit Union.
The charter was opened up to all who live or work in Sullivan County on June 24, 1988, and the name was changed to the NH Community Federal Credit Union.

About Us Today

The NH Community Federal Credit Union was organized in 1959 for the employees of Joy Manufacturing. A subsequent change of its charter now allows membership eligibility to all individuals who live or work in Sullivan County.
The purpose of the Credit Union is to promote thrift among its members, and to create a source of credit for provident and productive purposes. Because we are a not-for-profit, membership-owned financial institution, we return our profits to you in the form of higher rates on deposits, or reduced loan rates. We truly have your best interests at heart.
As a member of this Credit Union, we believe you are an important member of our team, and we are committed to offering you the personal service and attention that you deserve and expect–and we’ve been doing that for 50 years! Stop in and see us today- you’ll be glad you did.

We are conveniently located at 98 Charlestown Road, Claremont, New Hampshire.
